The November SecTalks Gold Coast meetup. Paul McCarty presents The Rise and Fall of TeamPCP, a case study of the financially motivated group that compromised developer accounts, CI/CD pipelines and package publishing infrastructure to push credential stealing malware into npm and PyPI packages, including the self propagating Mini Shai-Hulud worm. Runs 6:00pm to 8:00pm, with drinks and pizza provided by sponsors. Free to attend, with RSVPs capped at 50.

SecTalks

SecTalks is a community-run security meetup with chapters in Australian cities including Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide, Canberra and Hobart. Each chapter meets roughly monthly for a talk or two followed by a hands-on capture-the-flag challenge, with the winner presenting the solution at the next session. Meetups are free, hosted at member companies' offices, and pitched at everyone from students to senior practitioners.
